Troop 124 youth leadership positions elections

Scouts:

Troop elections are held every 6 month at the regularly scheduled Troop meeting.  These are announced and are all hands meetings - every Scout is expected to arrive, on time 7:30pm and in full class 'A' uniform.

During this meeting Scouts will place their names on the ballot for consideration to be elected into Leadership positions in the Troop.  After the elections the new Senior Patrol Leader, with Scoutmaster advanced approval, builds his team by apponiting Scouts to the important Troop positions of Quartermaster / Scribe / Chaplians Aid / OA Rep / Webmaster / Librarian / Historian / Buglar / Leave No Trace Instructor (new) / Troop Guide and  Troop Instructor.

Every Scout must be reminded that a leadership position of 6 months is required for much of the advancement process.

For those Scouts who are elected to a Troop Leadership position; this is a responsability to be taken seriously.  You will be expected to perform thier duties, contribute to the flow and function of the Troop based on your position, regulrly attend both meetings and as required - PLC planning meetings.

Prior to election nights consider your 1st option and 2nd option of a potion you would like to hold and research what the potion requires.   Also consider visiting the Nation BSA website - create your account (by now you should have done so) and do your research there - also - take some of the on-line training available there!

Every Scout has a duty to perform the duty of the position. Those who fail to meet their obligation and have failed to respond to the mentoring offered to rise to the expected performance will be removed from that position for that election period.  Future opportunities will be available to earn the right to claim having met the leadership criteria required for advancement.
